A great Chaplain Director is someone who:

• Serves as an active or retired law enforcement chaplain of 5+ years
• Has been married as an officer or chaplain couple for 5+ years
• Has a heart for improving and saving law enforcement marriages
• Desires to energetically volunteer at least 20 hours per month
• Regularly engages with a network of Christian law enforcement supporters
• Believes in the BTBM vision and mission
• Relates to and demonstrates the BTBM values on a daily basis
• Understands the value of each of our offerings
• Exhibits strong pastoral presence and knows how to encourage and guide couples in strengthening their relationships
• Stays active in ongoing chaplaincy and marriage enrichment training opportunities
• Maintains strong relationships with law enforcement families, agencies, and partner ministries

The Chaplain Director:

• Provides proactive marriage and spiritual support to officers, spouses, and families 
• Completes Tactical Relationship Training
• Collaborates internally to integrate chaplaincy care into the BTBM programs, including conferences, workshops, academy classes, and couples coaching
• Leads devotions, prayer, and biblical teaching related to marriage and family life
• Develops a BTBM Chaplain Program with a train-the-trainer model to equip other chaplains in marriage-focused ministry
• Partners with an accredited chaplaincy organization to establish a pathway for BTBM-branded chaplain certification
• Equips and mentors other chaplains within the BTBM network to serve marriages
• Ensures chaplain services align with biblical principles and the BTBM mission
• Monitors the spiritual and relational needs of participants at events and provides proactive encouragement and guidance
• Represents the organization at law enforcement chaplaincy and marriage ministry events
• Participates in BTBM leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions
• Fosters a culture of spiritual wellness and marital resilience across BTBM programs and initiatives
• Upholds confidentiality and ethical chaplaincy standards at all times
