A great Development Director is someone who:

• Serves as an active law enforcement officer or spouse of 5+ years
• Has been married as a law enforcement couple for 5+ years 
• Has a heart for improving and saving law enforcement marriages
• Desires to energetically volunteer at least 20 hours per month 
• Regularly engages with a network of Christian law enforcement supporters
• Believes in the BTBM vision and mission
• Relates to and demonstrates the BTBM values on a daily basis
• Understands the value of each of our offerings
• Maintains an expansive network in the law enforcement community
• Exhibits strong executive presence and relationship building skills
• Influences through compelling opportunities and events
• Sustains, retains and engages donors, sponsors and partners

The Development Director:

• Effectively articulates the organization’s “1 minute vision statement”
• Completes Tactical Relationship Training
• Collaborates internally to develop and execute the BTBM fundraising strategy
• Tracks objectives, key results and metrics of strategic plans
• Maintains relationships with prior and existing donors and partners
• Obtains financial support from individuals and organizations
• Manages fundraising and special events
• Generates development materials (grants, business cases, etc)
• Monitors feedback and escalates concerns to the National Directors
• Represents the organization at other law enforcement related events
• Brainstorms ideas and participates in ongoing continuous improvement
• Maintains a positive image of the BTBM brand at all times
• Follows social media and expense management policies 
• Under the direction of the Board of Directors, leads the Fundraising committee
• Attends regular Leadership Meetings
