A great State Ambassador is someone who:

• Serves as an active law enforcement officer or spouse of 5+ years
• Has been married as a law enforcement couple for 5+ years 
• Has a heart for improving and saving law enforcement marriages
• Desires to energetically volunteer at least 40 hours per month (individually or as a team)
• Has successfully served as an Event Coordinator with Bless The Badge Ministries
• Does not serve as a leader of another organization that could present a conflict of interest
• Regularly engages with a network of Christian law enforcement supporters
• Believes in the BTBM vision and mission
• Relates to and demonstrates the BTBM values on a daily basis
• Understands the value of each of our offerings

Beyond the value provided to those served, State Ambassadors benefit from:

Within assigned state(s), State Ambassador:

• Effectively articulates the organization’s “1 minute vision statement”
• Builds a state-level team of Christ following Event Coordinators
• Educates current and prospective sponsors, donors, departments and others about BTBM
• Works closely with Regional Directors and Project Director to plan and execute events (conferences and workshops)
• Partners with state licensing board and departments to offer academy classes
• Builds rapport with other law enforcement supporting organizations 
• Creates community on their state Facebook group (if desired)
• Drives brand awareness and attracts partnerships
• Tracks objectives, key results and metrics of events, campaigns, etc
• Monitors feedback and escalates concerns to the Regional Directors
• Represents the organization at other law enforcement related events
• Brainstorms ideas and participates in ongoing continuous improvement
• Maintains a positive image of the BTBM brand at all times
• Follows social media and expense management policies (coming soon!) 
• Participates in at least one BTBM committee (coming soon!)
• Attends regular Leadership Meetings
• Considers next level certifications:
  • Tactical Relationship Training Instructor
  • Certified Marriage Specialist (CMS) with National Association of Marriage Enhancement (NAME) 
  • Chaplain through International Alliance of Community Chaplains (IAOCC)
  • International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) trainings: Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention

Tactical Leadership Training (TLT) for State Ambassadors and their teams, is offered twice a year, beginning in April and October.  Each cohort completes online assignments, then meets twice a month for discussion and application.  After the 4-month course, there is a virtual graduation, after which State Ambassadors work on the below annual goals.

Year 1

• Hold 1+ conference , including facilitation of funding
• Develop leadership team; identify and gain commitment from:
  • 1 prospective TRT Instructor couple
  • 1 credible first responder clinician in the area
  • 1 local liaison (wellness, chaplain, etc)
  • 3+ law enforcement representatives (officer, spouse, family member)
• Intro the organization to 3+ agencies
• Intro the organization to 3+ local/state LE supporting organizations 
• Connect with 1+ local/state LE spouse organization
• Raise $500 for state expenses (fundraisers, donors, etc to cover booths, printing, etc)

Years 2+

• Repeat goals of Year 1
• Identify 1 prospective Inspiring Storyteller
• Partner with 1 agency to integrate (academy, in-service, family day)
• Work with the state for TRT accreditation
